My
Story Brand
Hello everyone, my name is Deepanshu Yadav. I am 19 years
old. I belong to rewari, Haryana. I am pursuing B.tech in civil engineering
from UPES College in Dehradun. Besides this, I am also very fond of off road
driving and playing volleyball. I am a state level volleyball player.
I choose civil engineering only because of my deep interest
in building and construction work. The other reason for choosing this branch
was that my father is a contractor and I also wanted to go in the same field
and help him. As my father is a contractor I used to go with him at working
sites when I was in 8th class. I used to see labor working with
bricks and stones and building large houses, fly overs etc. This gave rise to
my interest in this field.
After completing my 4 year bachelor degree I would like to
go abroad for higher studies in this field. Going abroad will gave a large
scope to deal with big monuments and structures. When I was in 11th
class, I became crazy to know about the construction of Eifel tower of Paris. I
will like to go abroad so that I can learn more things about this field as well
as other things which can help me in becoming a successful civil engineer.
I developed my interest in this field in 8th standard
and when I was in 12th I became sure to choose this field only
because I became very eager to study about buildings and materials used in
construction. I used to search different things on google and watch videos on
YouTube. My father also used to give me knowledge regarding this.
Apart from studies I also have practical knowledge about
this field. Last year in September I went to my home and asked my father to
take me to a working site with him but at that time he was busy so he sent me
to a working site on his friend. The site was on construction of a mall. The
work was going with a fast pace. I spent 10-15 days on the site and learned
many new things regarding this field. I came to know about how much it costs to
build a mall. What is process behind it and materials used during the
construction. I also came to know that labor work is the most important part of
construction. It was a good experience to see all these things.
My father once said me that this is an evergreen field and
very effective for a country but requires a lot of hard work. It requires
standing whole day in front of the site and keep a close watch on all the
things. So, for becoming a successful engineer and going for abroad studies I
have to work harder. I have to gain practical knowledge as much as I can. I also
have to score goods marks in my exams so that I can get a good cgpa pointer. I
will have to do internship also so that I can earns some practical knowledge
and apply it when required.
“NO SHORTCUTS WORK
FOR IT.”
Success only comes to those who work with their full
determination. There are no shortcuts for me to reach my aim. I have to be
passionate and determined towards my goal so that I can accomplish it. Hard
work plays an important role. Like, when I was in 9th standard I was
very weak in studies and used to play games whole day. My mother was very upset
regarding me. But when my father told me about the importance of goals and
study in life I felt bad about my behavior and I tried a lot to study hard.
After 8-9 months I became consistent in studies. I got 82% marks in my 12th
standard. I also cleared UPES test with a rank of 7ooo and got the branch I
wanted. UPES has a good study environment and I know working hard here will
definitely pay me with good grades and placement as well.
After completing my 4 year degree I would fill also the
tests I can to study more. I will go abroad to study. Handling my father’s
business is also a good option for me. But for all these I firstly have to get
the degree with good grades. I hope I will accomplish my goal successfully.
THANK YOU
